Sneaky sneak

I couldn't sleep last night! I tried and tried for hours, getting more and more frustrated as the birds started singing and the sky began to get lighter and lighter. I decided to do something productive and do a little drawing! I set myself the challenge of drawing the first thing I saw when I turned the light back on. This happened to be my converse shoe! I rarely draw shoes so it was a challenge but I'm quite pleased with the result. Drawn with black biro.

Sketchbook

observational pen drawing of shoes for zine inspiration.

Watercolour and sewing piece to show old antiquities like my mum's dressing table. It was nice to encorporate texture into my work by leaving hanging threads.

Vintage collage constructed from cuttings from old play scripts.

Observational pen drawing of my mum's hand. showing texture and detail, reflecting intricacy of line on form.

Butcher!

This is a quick painting i did of my friend's dog- Butcher. I used a combination of pens, watercolour pencils, paint and blackboard marker for the highlights, i was pleased with how i managed to capture his cheeky character in the piece!

Portraiture

I was commissioned to do a portrait of a friends daughter, this is the final product. I'm quite pleased with it, i love the texture on the jacket and her serene expression.

I'ts been a while!

It's been a while since i've posted anything, been so busy with commission work over the summer but here are a few pieces from the last couple of months. Enjoy!
